Welcome to Summer!

Reading is fun and leads to success in school and in life. If you are attending DHMS in the fall of 2025, there is no required summer reading, so find some good books and read and enjoy! The handouts below give some great recommendations for summer reading for middle schoolers.

We offer digital books, so visit Sora, our online platform for ebooks and audiobooks and ComicsPlus, our platform for graphic novels and manga (access it by going to Clever then clicking on MackinVIA).

Summer Checkout

If you are returning to DHMS in August, 2025, you can check out up to 10 books for the summer beginning on May 19. Fill out the form below and bring it to Ms. Kochel or email it to [email protected].
