Transforming Our library into a Learning Commons
Library Mural Celebrates ReadingMike Lowery, a local author/illustrator (and proud parent of a DHMS student), painted a mural of quotations about reading and learning on the library's back wall. See more of his work at https://mikelowery.com
Library TransformationGreat news! Our Indigo Girls Library Benefit was a huge success. We raised over $50,000 from ticket sales, merchandise, and donations. We also received a Lowe's Toolbox for Education grant in the amount of $5,000. When combined with our previous fundraising, our total is $77,000 and we have purchased most of the new furniture in our library plan.

The VisionWe began with an outdated high school library with 50-year-old furnishings. Our dream was to provide a welcoming space where our students and teachers could work together to solve problems and think deeply. Our newly transformed library is a hub of reading and creativity and innovative thinking.
